SURVEY

The Outaouais Regional Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development (CREDDO),Tourisme Outaouais and the City of Gatineau are joining forces to carry out a diagnosis of sustainable tourism in the Outaouais region.

The main objective of this mandate is to provide a portrait of sustainable development for the tourism industry in the Outaouais, to analyze it critically and to identify potential partnerships between businesses in the Outaouais region. The study will include a section specifically devoted to major tourism events in order to deepen this theme, which is considered a priority by Tourisme Outaouais and the City of Gatineau.

For those who want to do the survey in English, businesses are welcome to call or write to Valérie Jill Vachon at 514-550-2271 or by email at valerie.jill.vachon@creddo.ca.

5 MINUTES FOR BUSINESS

Hammering Business – Finance Canada’s New Crackdown

The government has just proposed the most radical tax overhaul in 50 years. We’re particularly worried about the impact on business from

  1. a new tax on investment income in a corporation, and
  2. tough new rules for compensation in family businesses.

In this special edition of 5 Minutes for Business, Hendrik Brakel, our Senior Director, Economic, Financial and Tax Policy, looks at what is driving the government’s new crackdown on private corporations.
