Policy Issues
The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce is the voice of its members, representing the business community at local, regional, provincial and federal levels.
Your Pontiac Chamber of Commerce functions as a vital linkage between our region's commercial interests and its elected representatives along with their service agencies. In maintaining these linkages, via the employment of effective lines of communication, the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee strives to make our elected officials aware of concerns and issues currently facing its members. In this regard, the Committee has and will continue to meet on a quarterly basis with the three levels of government; federal, provincial, and regional in order to convey the sentiments of its members.
The primary areas of focus during these meetings are currently fuel tax zoning, the state of our transportation system and government tendering procedures. We also work in conjunction with federal and provincial service agencies to promote Pontiac goods and services through the Pontiac wide 'Buy Local - Shop Local' campaign.
Stay tuned for updates on these and other important initiatives.
